I was going to start this post with ‘I’m never going to be able to get all that in my mouth’ but then heard a Sid James cackle in my mind, and thought the better of it. The object to which I was referring was a juicy, meaty, burger and a half from Jordans at Longrock car park. They’re known for their burgers, so we thought we’d give them a go.
Sitting with my toes in the sand, my mouth full of Cornish blue cheese and prime beef, my attention was caught by a father and his teenager son out on the water kitesurfing. The bright sunshine and a strong onshore wind made conditions tricky, but they prevailed – zipping backwards and forwards, their kites looking perilously baggy for a second every time they turned.
It’s fascinating watching the kitesurfers in Mounts Bay. We stayed for two hours, enjoying the spectacle. At one point, my husband turned to me and asked “Happy, love?”. I looked around at the beautiful scenery with the colourful kites scudding about in the foreground, the taste of a great burger in my mouth and a takeout latte in my hands. “Yes love, like a bloke”, I said.
